Job Title: Volunteers (YWCA HQ and Various YWCA Branches)
YWCA of Tanzania - Volunteers Needed
The YWCA of Tanzania is a non-profit, volunteer-led organization dedicated to empowering women and girls to achieve justice, peace, gender equality, good governance, health, and environmental care. We address community needs through relevant programs, focusing on girls, young women, and women. YWCA Tanzania is part of the global YWCA movement in over 125 countries, founded in 1855 and formally established in 1894. YWCA is the world's oldest women's movement. In Tanzania, YWCA was founded in 1959 and registered as a national organization in 1969 with its headquarters in Dar es Salaam. Currently, YWCA Tanzania has 20 operating branches and three groups across the country.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in drafting and preparing project proposals and program support.
- Monitor ongoing programs and ensure they run smoothly and meet objectives.
- Collect and analyze data related to program outcomes for reporting purposes.
- Assist in organizing and facilitating community programs and activities at the branch level.
- Support administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and maintaining records.
- Help with administrative tasks, event setup, and logistical support.
- Promote awareness of YWCA programs and services within the area.
- Support finance-related tasks, including maintaining expense records and assisting in budget tracking.
- Support human resources activities such as record management and organizing training sessions.
- Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for women and young women.
- Collect feedback and document activities for reporting purposes.

Qualifications
- Recent graduates from college or university (Bachelor’s degree preferred) in fields such as Social Work, Business Administration, Human Resources, Finance, or related disciplines.
- A young and energetic woman, 30 years or under at the time of taking up the post.
- Strong interest in community development, women’s empowerment, and social programs.
- Basic understanding of office procedures and administrative tasks.
- Good communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, as well as fluent in English and Kiswahili.
- Eagerness to learn and develop skills in proposal writing, program supervision, and office management.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to undertake training related to specific job functions.
