The Project Manager ensures the successful planning, implementation, monitoring, and delivery of project activities aimed at strengthening Tanzania’s electric mobility ecosystem. The position focuses on supporting e-mobility enterprises through incubation, acceleration, financing mechanisms, market development, and strategic partnerships while ensuring compliance with donor

The role works closely with government agencies, financial institutions, investors, private sector organizations, e-mobility enterprises, development partners, and technical service providers to create sustainable business growth opportunities and strengthen the electric mobility sector. The Project Manager also oversees project operations, subsidy fund management, stakeholder engagement, financial oversight, team leadership, and performance monitoring.
Conduct due diligence and ensure proper utilization of project funds Ensure compliance with donor regulations, Mercy Corps policies, and market systems principles Identify and mitigate financial, operational, and programmatic risks Ensure financial support mechanisms do not create market dependency or distortions Promote evidence-based decision-making and sustainable investment practices Integrate safeguarding principles throughout project implementation Promote participant welfare, dignity, safety, and inclusion Foster transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct within project operations Supervise project staff, consultants, and implementation partners Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, and performance management support Prepare technical reports, donor reports, presentations, and project updates Represent the project in stakeholder engagements, workshops, conferences, and policy discussions Qualifications Master’s Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Energy Management, or a related field Strong understanding of electric mobility technologies and energy systems Knowledge of EV charging infrastructure, renewable energy integration, and mobility technologies Understanding of enterprise development, market systems approaches, and business acceleration models Familiarity with development cooperation projects and donor-funded program
