This strategic leadership role supports projects in multiple locations, including Geita (Tanzania), Obuasi and Tarkwa (Ghana), and Johannesburg (South Africa). The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future growth of the business by overseeing project studies from concept development through feasibility and investment approval stages. This is an exceptional opportunity for a senior mining or engineering professional with extensive project management experience to influence major capital investments and mine development strategies. The role involves leading multidisciplinary teams, managing complex project portfolios, and ensuring projects align with corporate objectives, governance standards, and long-term business value creation. Responsibilities: Lead the end-to-end development and delivery of Concept, Pre-Feasibility, and Feasibility Studies for mining projects. Oversee the preparation of Study Reports, Project Execution Plans, and Operational Readiness Plans. Ensure all study outputs comply with company standards, governance requirements, and investment criteria. Define project objectives, scope, alternatives, and success criteria in collaboration with project sponsors. Develop project charters and manage study phase transitions through completion and close-out. Apply comprehensive project management practices across scope, cost, schedule, quality, resources, procurement, and risk management. Develop and manage study schedules, budgets, and cost estimates to support decision-making processes. Monitor project progress, forecast timelines and costs, and implement corrective actions when necessary. Manage project scope changes and ensure appropriate approvals are obtained. Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary study teams, consultants, contractors, and specialist resources. Prepare teams for peer reviews, governance reviews, and investment approval processes. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Manage consultant and contractor agreements, including procurement and contracting strategies. Identify, assess, mitigate, and monitor project risks and opportunities. Coordinate Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) planning activities. Integrate studies into capital planning, budgeting, and business development processes. Maintain and update the project pipeline with accurate scope, cost, and schedule information. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification in Mining Engineering, Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
