Responsibilities
The Auto Electrician will be responsible for: Ensuring safe work practices, including: Attending compulsory safety courses and meetings. Using the required personal protective equipment (PPE). Reporting incidents and accidents. Adhering fully to all safety, occupational health and environmental policies. Following all other relevant policies, procedures and guidelines. Performing task risk assessments, including Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) and Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRA). Maintaining, repairing and diagnosing electrical issues on various mining vehicles and equipment. Conducting fault-finding and routine inspections on: Light vehicles. Light trucks. Trucks. Forklifts. Bobcats. Other mining machines. Coordinating activities within the unit and reporting to the supervisor. Ensuring that mobile equipment is maintained safely and cost-effectively. Participating in the development of training programmes for the national workforce. Conducting competency assessments. Demonstrating a commitment to safe working practices through personal example. Acting immediately when an unsafe act or situation is observed and continuously monitoring safety standards. Ensuring full compliance with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) repair procedures and all safety and training protocols. Completing all training modules under the auto-electrical and maintenance skills matrix programme. Monitoring mining auto-electrical activities and eliminating wasteful practices. Ensuring that agreed maintenance targets are achieved. Supporting and working through departmental tactical plans to achieve overall business objectives. Developing and managing equipment component change-outs and rebuilds where necessary. Investigating and implementing the latest technology to improve auto-electrical work. Performing any other task assigned by the reporting-line supervisor. Completing breakdown and preventive maintenance work orders on time. Creating subsequent notifications and providing feedback on work performed. Qualification
Requirements
Applicants must possess: Secondary education. Technical or vocational school education, apprenticeship training or on-the-job training. An FTC, VETA or IMTT Trade Test qualification, or its equivalent. Sound knowledge of mining safety regulations and industry best practices. Certification in air-conditioning system repairs. A valid Tanzanian driving licence for Classes B, D, E, G and F.
