Full Time Project Manager – EVOLVE E-Mobility Project Job at Mercy Corps Posted 1 month ago by Mercy Corps Dar es Salaam Job Description This role is responsible for providing overall strategic, technical, and operational leadership for the EVOLVE E-Mobility Project. The Project Manager ensures the successful planning, implementation, monitoring, and delivery of project activities aimed at strengthening Tanzania’s electric mobility ecosystem. The position focuses on supporting e-mobility enterprises through incubation, acceleration, financing mechanisms, market development, and strategic partnerships while ensuring compliance with donor requirements and organizational standards. The role works closely with government agencies, financial institutions, investors, private sector organizations, e-mobility enterprises, development partners, and technical service providers to create sustainable business growth opportunities and strengthen the electric mobility sector. The Project Manager also oversees project operations, subsidy fund management, stakeholder engagement, financial oversight, team leadership, and performance monitoring. Responsibilities Lead the overall strategic planning and implementation of the EVOLVE E-Mobility Project Develop and manage project work plans, budgets, timelines, and performance targets Design and oversee incubation and acceleration programs for e-mobility enterprises Ensure project interventions address the needs of both early-stage and growth-stage businesses Support sustainable market development within the e-mobility sector Collaborate with financial institutions, including NMB Bank, to oversee MSME subsidy fund strategies Ensure subsidy funds are used as catalytic investments to address market barriers and promote enterprise growth Manage the delivery of enterprise support services, including business diagnostics and assessments Oversee business coaching, mentoring, technical assistance, and investment readiness programs Facilitate market linkages and business networking opportunities for participating enterprises Ensure MSMEs receive tailored support based on their growth stage and business needs Create pathways for businesses to progress from incubation to acceleration programs Manage subsidy fund implementation, including enterprise selection, fund disbursement, and performance tracking Support business growth, innovation, operational improvements, and market expansion among participating enterprises Facilitate access to financing opportunities and private investment sources Engage investors, banks, and financial institutions to strengthen access to commercial financing Build partnerships with incubators, accelerators, technical service providers, and Qualifications Master’s Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Energy Management, or a related field Strong understanding of electric mobility technologies and energy systems Knowledge of EV charging infrastructure, renewable energy integration, and mobility technologies Understanding of enterprise development, market systems approaches, and business acceleration models Familiarity with development cooperation projects and donor-funded program requirements Knowledge of financial mechanisms supporting MSMEs and private sector development General Requirements Minimum of 10–12 years of progressive experience in the energy sector Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in electric vehicle regulations, charging
