Field Officer Job Opportunity at LVIA Tanzania Full Time Tanzania July 20, 2026 Administration Jobs Job Overview Field Officer Job Opportunity at LVIA Tanzania FIELD OFFICER WITH DRIVER DUTIES LVIA is looking for a Field Officer for the project entitled “ Boresha Majingira Tumia Jiko Banifu – Improve the Environment, Use Improved Cookstoves” within the “Green Tanzania Cookstove Programme.” Project location: Kongwa District, Dodoma Region. Office location: Kongwa District, Dodoma Region (P.O.BOX 160, Kongwa). Starting date: September 2025, 12-month contract, renewable. Salary: tsh 350.000 – 500.000, according to the experience and level of education of the selected candidate. Who we are Lay Volunteers International Association (LVIA) is an Italian NGO working in ten African Countries, including Tanzania. The Headquarters are based in Cuneo, Italy, while the offices in Tanzania are located in Kongwa District, Dodoma Region (P.O. Box 160, Kongwa). LVIA has been working in Tanzania for over 30 years, supporting community development with a particular focus on agriculture, health, water, and hygiene. The project LVIA is looking for a Field Officer to be employed in the framework of the project “ Tunza Majingira Tumia Jiko Banifu” – “Improve the Environment, use improved cookstoves” developed and run by OffgridSun within the Programme “Green Tanzania Cookstove Programme ”. The project aims to reduce reliance on traditional cooking methods in Kongwa District by distributing 26,000 improved cookstoves across 30 villages. These cookstoves, which are more efficient and produce less smoke, will decrease firewood and charcoal consumption by up to 70%, mitigating deforestation, reducing carbon emissions, and lowering respiratory health risks. Additional objectives include promoting environmental conservation through tree planting and contributing to several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), such as poverty reduction, health improvement, gender equality, sustainable economic growth, and ecosystem protection. This objective can be achieved through the following expected results: 1) Targeted households are provided with improved cookstoves. 2) Distribution of 26.000 improved cookstoves within local communities. 3) Organization of awareness-raising events on environmental protection and promotion of improved stoves in the target villages. 4) Assure the targeted cookstoves are functioning and are used by the beneficiaries. Duties and responsibilities Under the supervision of the Project Coordinator and Country Representative, the Field Officer will be responsible for the following duties: TASKS: Support the Project Coordinator in the implementation of the project, ensuring the execution of activities at the local level. Coordinate the distribution of project materials and resources, and participate in the preparation of materials, including the loading of cookstoves. Facilitate contact with beneficiaries, coordinate trainings and campaigns with partners, and carry out awareness and sensitization activities in the community. Conduct regular field visits to monitor project progress, assess impact, and identify areas for improvement. Capacity to collect accurate data, prepare regular reports, and efficiently upload information using the relevant data systems. Establish strong relationships and collaborate with key village representatives, government authorities, and project partners to ensure successful project implementation. Address challenges and conflicts in the field, providing practical solutions to ensure project continuity. Drive carefully LVIA vehicles for activities implementation, missions and other duties with LVIA staff. Make a strict follow up of the ordinary and extra ordinary maintenance of the vehicles (cars and motorbikes) and every day ensure that are in good conditions and ready to be used. SKILLS: Ability to build strong professional relationships with beneficiaries. Ability to conduct sensitization activities autonomously. Capacity to relate effectively with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds Highly organized, with the ability to work independently while fostering collaboration and a unified team approach. Good interpersonal communication, report writing, and computing skills. Problem-solving skills. Sensitive to gender equality issues. Requirements ESSENTIAL: The ideal candidate should possess a university degree or diploma in a relevant field such as: Rural community development. Monitoring and evaluation. Data collection. Environmental studies. While a degree in one of these fields is preferred, candidates with equivalent qualifications or relevant experience may also be considered, allowing for a diverse pool of backgrounds and skills. In addition, candidates should have: At least one year of relevant professional experience as a Field Officer. Proficiency in English and proven ability to draft official reports and documents in both English and Kiswahili . Strong digital skills , including proficiency in using smartphones, mobile applications, and data collection tools or systems. A valid driving license for both cars and motorcycles. Tanzanian citizenship . Candidates from Kongwa District or with previous work experience in the area are strongly preferred, as familiarity with the local context will be considered an asset. The Employee is expected to maintain a flexible attitude and a high degree of adaptability to potential changes or additions to the assigned duties based on local needs. The Employee should also strive to integrate their work within the broader framework of LVIA’s presence in Tanzania to ensure consistency and continuity across current and future projects. PREFERRED: Relevant courses/certificates. Previous experiences with international NGOs and donor funded projects.
